do you know the real and original definition of the word diet?

Diet means the "range of foods habitually eaten by by a person or animal". Diet comes from the Greek word diaita which means way of life.

Children, adults and families need a 'healthy diaita', a healthy way of life: a healthy diet.

The word diet has been hijacked by people trying to lose weight and so we get dieters, going on a diet, dieting - all of these words are linked to restriction and limiting food choice.

Throughout foodtalk's website, diet does not mean dietary restriction or limiting a range of foods for any special purpose. I go back to the original meaning of 'healthy diaita', a healthy way of life: a healthy diet.
